Lifestyle Family Session | The Brewer Family

Henry is growing so fast. I met The Brewer Family at their home one Sunday afternoon. Henry has been cutting teeth and scooting around and he's all vocal now, too! This was an amazing afternoon full of laughter and love. Not to mention, lots of cooing adults all over baby Henry. What a fun lifestyle session in the comforts of home with a very photogenic handsome baby boy. I love you three!

Tuesday's Hues | Bridge of Lions

The Bridge of Lions crosses the Matanzas River and connects St. Augustine to Anastasia Island. This is a side view of the bridge at sunrise from Castillo de San Marcos. Gorgeous, isn't it?
The reflections of the lights from the bridge on the river below are reminiscent of drip painting. Looking at this photograph from afar, it almost resembles an abstraction. I took this photograph during my vacation in St. Augustine. You can see my previous post for a beautiful lighthouse still.

Tuesday's Hues | St. Augustine Lighthouse II

Notice something familiar? If you visited last week's post, you will!
I hadn't been to St. Augustine since 2003 or around there. This was my first time visiting the Lighthouse & Maritime Museum and climbing a lighthouse all the way to the top, ever. I love first times, don't you? There's something about being in the moment and wanting to take everything in. The spiral staircase is captivating. My Love and I planned this trip for us and our children. The kids had a blast, as there is a pirate ship playground, and other interactive things for children outside as well as in the museum. Experiencing the museum through their eyes was amazing too. The museum is packed full of thematic rooms with historic information, photos and artifacts. Also, there are sectional learning centers on the main level and down in the basement. We enjoyed our visit so much. If you are ever in that area and have children, I highly recommend visiting the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum.

Tuesday's Hues | St. Augustine Lighthouse

St. Augustine, Florida.

St. Augustine Lighthouse is the first lighthouse, that I can remember, that I climbed all the way to the top. The lighthouse has 219 steps total. My Love & I brought our children for a fun weekend to The Old City and had a tremendous time. The weather was super hot that day; lots of sweating and drinking water! Oh, but at the top of this lighthouse you can see beautiful views of the surrounding area. It was quite breezy up there as well, which was a welcomed refreshment after the climb. I got a glimpse of the prisms in the light...just gorgeous. Love all the colors!

Tuesday's Hues | Colors in Miami

The weather was beautiful my last trip down to South Florida. My Love & I visited Wynwood Walls for the second time together. This time though, we ventured out a little further and discovered places that really inspired us. There are many brightly colored vacant buildings and empty streets with overgrown foliage. We walked down these streets to capture some urban art. The day we visited was super hot, but we both got some great shots. The one above is from a closed storefront a few blocks from Wynwood Walls.

Newborn | Henry Jessie

Say hello to the fourth generation, my nephew from my brother, Jessie. This is Henry. Henry looks so much like his daddy in this first image. Same long body, legs and toes. I was only 6 years old when my brother was born, but I can recall vivid details of that day. I remind him every so often, mainly on his birthday or when I'm feeling sentimental, that I prayed for a brother every night and I cried happy tears when I found out God answered my prayers.

I met Jessie & Jessica at their house on a December afternoon. Henry was sleeping so soundly when I arrived. He looked quite peaceful, I didn't want to stir him much. So, I took a few frames on his parents' bed. I put my camera down, of course, and sneaked a cuddle and kisses in between frames. Just as soon as I started to, Oh So Gingerly, take his clothes off to get some bare skinned photos, he woke up. Henry has the sweetest pondering faces. He was totally content as long as he heard mama's voice close by. These are some of my favorites from Henry's newborn session.

Henry is not a newborn anymore, as these images are from my archives. This weekend, I'll be taking his 8 month pictures. Oh Henry, time sure does fly...xo!

Newborn baby perfection.

Look at all that sweet baby hair!

This is my favorite image of Henry during his newborn session. I love how his blue eyes have the catch lights reflecting the windows.

Black & White and a sleeping baby profile. LOVE!

Tuesday's Hues | Swoon Mural

Wynwood Walls | "Dawn of Gemma" Mural by Swoon

I will never forget this afternoon. The very first time I visited Wynwood Walls. My Love surprised me...I was speechless when we parked right near the entrance gates. My very favorite graffiti artists, Pichi & Avo had a wall here, I knew, and I almost cried thinking that I would finally see it with my own eyes. There were so so so many amazing talents represented there. Swoon's mural was one of the walls that had really caught my attention. The full mural shows an image of a mother breastfeeding her baby (link above), but there is so much aesthetically happening all around her. Within this wall you find beautiful colors, symmetry, texture, geometric shapes, balance, contrast, floral motifs...the whole thing is just lovely to take in. The image above is just a little macro snippet of a large beautiful work of urban art. The colors inspire me. Go explore. You never know what will awaken your creativity.
